As I mentioned yesterday, here is the mini-tutorial for the individual cake stands I used for the Monster Fest party. I keep these stands on hand and use them a lot. They're very easy to re-paint and customize to whatever party them I'm doing. Full disclosure, these are not my original idea. I first saw them on Pinterest (of course) and had to make them! However, I did think it might be helpful for some of you to see what the packaging looks like so you know what to look for in the store and to see how easy they are to make. Enjoy!
The stand is made up of two parts glued together - a 3" candle stick and a 3" disc/circle. I found them at Craft Warehouse in the unfinished wood section. I know Michael's has the circles, but I'm not sure about the stand. They cost $2.99 per pack and look like this:
All you have to do is add some glue to the top of the candle stick, line it up in the middle of the disc and glue it down. I used all purpose craft glue but I think just about any glue would work since you don't need it to be super sturdy or anything. All it will be doing is sitting on the table with a cupcake on it. :) Let them dry and they're ready to go. I spray painted these white but you can paint them, add glitter, add ruffles (from crepe paper or fabric), the sky's the limit!
And here it is in action from the Monster Fest party.
